Christmas Decor at the City House part 2

ugh. I woke up last night sick. I hope it's just a 24 hour bug but today, I'm on the couch taking it easy. Seems like the perfect time to catch you up on the rest of my Christmas decor.

Last week, I showed you my Winter Wonderland. However, I didn't share my table. I used mercury glass, silver reindeer, snowflakes, and a wintery garland laid on top of a red runner.

And my Christmas salad plates on top of white plates, woodland chargers, and silver placemats.

In the kitchen I went bolder and brighter ( I can't get away from traditional red and green completely!).

Santa and gingerbread men add whimsy by the sink and bring a smile

The small Santa cup is my childhood cup and the blocks are a thrifted find from Canton.

The larger Santa cup from Canton ($1 find) holds peppermint sticks:

My small tree got a Santa theme: wood ornaments I've made over the years, along with ones I've bought to fit the Santa Claus theme (a fabric Santa coat, presents, reindeer, HoHoHo sign, etc)

Along with a Santa hat topper and tree skirt
So bright and cheerful!

The chalkboard got a new saying along with my canning jar lid tree (thanks to Donna over at Funky Junk for the idea and tutorial!)

A small sign I hand painted next to the tree reminds us not to be grumpy. :-)

Lastly, I put out my nativity. I wanted to keep it more simple this year so I just pulled out the Angel, donkey, sheep, and of course Joseph, Mary, and baby Jesus. I tucked them into a small thrifted suitcase box I painted a couple of years ago. I love how it looks! I just need a good star to put above it.

Outside, we placed the J-O-Y sign I bought in Canton, along with some lighted deer.

The porch has a sleigh full of lighted glass block presents

with Rudy the red-nosed armadillo pulling it (we are in Texas, after all!), while Santa rides in a toy dump truck:

And there you have it: our city house all decked out for the holidays! I'll be sharing the Farmhouse later in the week so be sure to stop back by!

  3. Love that sleigh on your porch Cecilia! I think that's my favorite, but the plates and chalkboard are a close second. ;).

What a bummer that you're not feeling well. It's never a good time to be sick, but especially now, so hurry up and get better. Lots of liquids young lady!

  4. Cecilia! Love your red sleigh! I have yet to get anything out of Christmas storage boxes. For the past week I've had a bug/cold and an injured back. Gotta do something soon or Santa won't come!

Your front porch is so interesting. I likely would spend some time there just looking. Love that large sleigh and the armadillo. Sorry you are not feeling well. Hope you tick the bug soon.
