Laundry Room Reveal

Good morning, my friends! I can't believe it's been a month since I started on the laundry room at the city house. But finally it's all done and I couldn't be more pleased with how it all turned out.

Of course I have to share before pictures so we can compare. It was cluttered and dinged up.

Today, it has a fresh coat of paint and has been decluttered! One of the best things I did was to have Bruce put a shelf behind the washer and dryer. I stained it Minwax Early American:

It's perfect!

I'm wondering what took me so long to do this. It really changed the way the room looks and it gets the laundry soap up off the floor. I got the cute chicken wire baskets from At Home.

I also found these hanging boxes from Gordman's. C-U-T-E! The bottom one is the perfect size for the dryer sheets and the top one holds the kitty treats. I hung it from a cool hook I found at Hobby Lobby. Next to that is another chicken wire basket that holds the pet brushes. It really helps contain all the pet stuff.

Also from At Home, I got some green woven baskets that fit in the cabinets. Those hold extra light bulbs, pet supplies, cleaning items, etc. When I pulled everything out, I went through it all and got rid of all the unnecessary stuff. I labeled each basket so I know what is in each one. Wow, what a difference!

On top of the cabinets, I put some fabric bins I already had. Again, they are labeled. It all looks so neat. Yay! No more clutter! Plus I can find what I need.

Across from the washer and dryer is where I put a bench. The litter box now sits under the bench concealed by a cabinet door.

I also made a cushion for the bench using a king sized pillow and pretty chevron fabric which picks up the green in the new rug.

On the wall above the bench is one of the old windows a friend gave me. I put my photo art into two of the window pane areas. Above the window is a galvanized "hi".

On the walls next to the bench is my refreshed shelf with key hooks and basket

And then on the other side is another of the Hobby Lobby hooks to hold my pretty bag I won from Kris over at Junk Chic Cottage. I love how bright and cheerful it is. It holds the plastic grocery bags I use to clean the litter box.

There's a new rug for the floor from Ross (a new trashcan as well!)

A new cover for the ironing board (picks up the green from the rug too).

And a new window blind finishes off the space (bye-bye ancient mini blind).

It's so nice to have it fresh, clean, and uncluttered with a cool drop-off zone as well. Makes my trips in and out of the house or doing laundry much more pleasant!

  2. Evwrything looks great! I love the colors you used...so pretty. Labeling the baskets (or in my case, numbering them) makes such a difference and helps you find things without having to search for them. Love that little hanging box that holds the dryer sheets and cat treats. It is similar to a project I have on the hubby's to do list. :) Enjoy your new space!

  3. Laundry rooms are a great place to redo. They're small so the time we spend doing so is well rewarded.

The baskets and window look great! You're going to love doing laundry ;).

Have a great week!

  7. Love your laundry room. Mine is just so ho-hum. Wish I had room for a shelf above the washer/dryer. Maybe I just need to clear out some of the clutter.
