Fall Flowers Around the House

I can't believe it's November already. That means the holidays are fast approaching - as in full-steam ahead, don't blink, just around the corner quick. Therefore, I know I need to get the house ready for Thanksgiving followed soon by Christmas!

To me, nothing brings a touch of home to a house like flowers. Since the farm is only a weekend place, I use silk florals but I would love to use fresh flowers. How pretty is this arrangement in a mason jar?

And with time at a premium this time of year, what better way to get those pretty flowers than to have them delivered? BloomNation has some beautiful selections - if you haven't heard of BloomNation before, they are an online marketplace that supports local florists through their flower delivery service. What a great way to bring in the beauty of fresh florals!

For now though, I have to use what works best for me: thus on the fireplace, a thrifted picnic basket holds a bouquet of mixed silk flowers and dried naturals:

The coffee table has my book page pumpkin on a wooden stand surrounded by sunflowers, leaves, and berries:

A large metal basket near the entryway holds more flowers and berries:

And on the table, a wooden dough bowl holds a simple arrangement of sunflowers with berries and a mini pumpkin:

I love how the flowers, Fall leaves, and berries add a warm and homey touch to my decor. And before I know it, it will be time to change it out for Christmas! But for now, I am loving my Fall flowers.

    1. Thanks, KariAnne! Fall truly is my most favorite time of year, followed closely by Christmas. Those sunflowers are almost as good as the real thing. ;)

  2. I love fall bouquets too! The warm colors are so pretty. You have some beautiful little vignettes set up. I especially love the book page pumpkin and the dough bowl arrangement! I wish I could find some silks as pretty as yours. I just haven't seen much this year. Hope you're having a great week!

  4. Love your fall decorating, Cecilia. I think every room needs something growing in it (or appearing to grow!) I do a mix of silk, dried, and real that makes me happy without breaking the bank :) You're a great decorator!

    1. Thank you, Diana! I love the real deal but I wouldn't get to enjoy/take care of them so silk it is. At least, those have come a long way and most look very real.
Just so you know, you are showing as a no reply blogger. :-)

  5. Ohhhh Cecilia! These flowers are gorgeous, and you're so right...silk has come a very long way in the last few years. I remember when they looked like plastic from a mile away, now you almost have to touch them to know. Your dough bowl is lovely, as are all your arrangements. I know the first one isn't yours, but me wanty ;).

    1. Thanks, Kimberely! Me too- it's good to support local. The pumpkin was easy to do. I'd like to make a couple of more someday. Have a good rest of the week too!

  8. Beautiful! I, too, am loving the book page pumpkin. Fall is my favorite season. Perhaps because it's such a relief after a TX summer, but mostly because of the rich warm colors. Happy November!
