We accomplished quite a bit - B took down the old, ugly carport that was rotting, we raked and burned huge piles of leaves, and B started painting the outside of the house. Goodbye streaky yellow, hello beautiful Sandstone Cove!
And inside projects got done too. Remember the two pillows I bought to recover?
I finished them and placed them on the beds and now they look like this:
I finished my coffee tray also and placed it behind the coffee tool box to hide the power cords. I just love it when something turns out the way I envisioned! Here's a before pic...I was using a green plate to hide the cords:

And now the new cord hider! I love how it looks - I need to figure out a way to lift it up a bit more though.
I don't know about you, but my project pile keeps growing even before I finish all I have. I mean, when you find something, you have to get it right? And I found this before we left for the weekend:

And then there's this that's just been waiting for me to work on it:
Love the little white knob but let me tell you, the backing is yucky and smelly so off it went. Going to have Mr. B put beaded board on it. Both pieces got primed and the first coat of paint on them. Sadly, the 2nd coat will have to wait for my next trip to the farm.
She's a little rough but soon she will be sporting a new coat of paint and a new cushion. Can you guess where she'll go? Ah, but that's for another time.

DeleteThat pew is great, right? I had to save it from the recycle guy...fortunately, I was able to take it. :o) Can't wait to get started on it! It should work well with my Abbey style vision.
So many projects, so little time! I definitely know the feeling. I almost feel like we're family after viewing your project list...lolMy list is like yours...growing! I also have 2 different coffee pots. Love them both, it depends on if I want hot or cold, lol. I also love the plate idea to hide the cords...I dunno how high you want to raise it but maybe a plate stand or some picture hanging velcro strips might work...

DeleteThe tray is on a plate stand but it's just not high enough...need to try something else - maybe the velcro. Those leaves had to wait until now because it was too wet each time we were there in the Fall. I could probably rake and burn leaves until next Fall and not get them all. No one has raked them in years so I have a lot of yard work ahead of me. :o)

You definitely had a busy weekend! I'm impressed that even though you had an extra day (love those!) you and Mr. B did all that! I don't think I would have been able to pass up those treasures either, especially that pew! It hurts me to think of how many beautiful, well made items end up in landfills only to be replaced by ikea pieces.
ReplyDeleteI know Doreen! That is why we rescue those pieces when we can...we just can't stand to see good stuff get thrown out. And it helps that the weather cooperated so we COULD get all that done - it did rain Saturday night but it cleared off by Sunday noonish. Funny how work at the farm doesn't really feel like work. Although I have been accused of being a slave driver. :o)

hee, I do sleep, I promise! Some of those ( like the pillows ) I actually did here at the city home and took them finished to the farm. The tray was mostly done before we went too. Funny you think that, I never feel like I've been organized enough to really get stuff taken care of. ha.

I'm a little concerned over the cushion - it is glued and stapled on and I'm not sure I can recover it without tearing up the seat...might have to do a loose cushion which would be ok, just have to figure it out. If you're close to Round Rock, TX I know where you can get a pew. :)
