Fall and Happy Times

I did it; I caved in and pulled out my Fall decor yesterday. What can I say? I love Fall and I needed to do some serious dusting so why not switch out the decorations while I was at it? Ha.

I've had these glass pumpkins forever - 1 large and 2 small. My twin sis gave them to many years ago. She bought them from Target.
I love how the candle light glows through the glass! I also added my owls - this mercury glass one is a favorite:
Then I added sunflowers and Fall leaves to my galvanized flower bucket on the buffet:
On the table, I added 3 more glass pumpkins I got shortly after my sister gave me the others. I placed them in a woven basket casserole carrier:
For my place settings, I used my red plates from Pier 1 on my woodland chargers, adding these cute squirrel salad plates (also from Pier 1):
Isn't he just the cutest thing ever?

The farmhouse also got a dose of Fall. A big shout out to my friend, Mira, who helped me get the living room looking the way I wanted. She and I went to Canton Market Days as well. It was hot but we had a blast! I didn't buy a whole lot this time although I did find some gifts. However, I'll share all that in another post.

The most exciting thing to happen this past weekend though? If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook then you know already! My daughter got engaged! We are so thrilled. Her guy is the sweetest ever. We are so happy for them. And I haven't quit smiling yet. :o)
Engagement party!
We're going to have a busy year getting everything ready but it should be fun. It will mean lots of projects!

How was your Labor Day weekend?

Smiles,
Cecilia

Farm Laundry Room Wall

This weekend I got the laundry room painted - walls, trim, and shelves. Yay!! It looks fresh and bright.

And because I got all the painting done, I was able to get the accent wall done ( thanks to my husband for his help!). When I began planning, I wanted to do something to the walls that would give it some interest. I thought of beadboard or a rough plaster texture but I wanted a more rustic look. Rough wood planks (as in old fence pickets) or what I really, really wanted was rusty tin. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough old fence pickets or somewhere to get rusty tin for either option.

I had just about decided to go with beadboard when I just happened to mention the rusty tin idea to one of my sisters. She said she knew where she could get some, so how much did I need? Yes! I quickly measured, told her, and in a few weeks had some tin panels. Perfect...only they weren't rusty. She told me the rusty ones were too far gone so she decided to bring me these. Ok, I can rust them…

Cozy Christmas Farmhouse at The B Farm

Hello my friends! Today I'm sharing The B Farm all cozied up for Christmas as part of the Cozy At Christmas Blog Tour. It's five days of Christmas goodness - I hope you will pop over and visit the other ladies. I'll share the links at the bottom of my post.

This year, I'm crazy about plaid! What? You too? To me, it just says "cozy" and "homey".

To begin, I dressed the table with red plaid placemats and red napkins from Audrey of Timeless Treasures. The plaid stockings are actually silverware holders my friend Susan gave me a couple of years ago. So cute!
The red pillows on the bench were wrapped with red and white plaid ribbon. They remind me of presents! The green plates with pinecone motif were a Good Will find many years ago.

Then in the kitchen window, I hung some crocheted lace also from Audrey. It's not plaid but it says farmhouse cozy to me!

Isn't it pretty?

The cute red and white checked apron (another wonderful item from Audrey) han…

Color Me Happy - Adding Color Back To The House

I've enjoyed our new colorful living room so much.
The touches of red, green and blue really bring the room to life.

It made me realize that trying to do neutral wasn't me even though I love the look in other people's homes. Therefore, I have embarked on a mission to add color back into my house.

I already had the red pillows and red plaid placemats for the dining area. I also made the red plaid curtain this past year.  My wall is full of colorful pictures and art.

I found the flowers on clearance at JoAnn's. Yay for clearance! It will be fun to have different colorful looks for the seasons.

For the kitchen, I decided to add colorful plates and what's more perfect than Fiestaware?  I have very fond memories of my mom's turquoise set especially the tea pitcher and salt & pepper shakers.

I knew there was a vendor at the Canton First Monday Trade Days that sold Fiestaware. I had bought a red pitcher a couple of years back. So in July, dinner plates came home…
